Tawasha

Tawasha was one of the first friends I made when I first moved to Chicago in 1998. I was drawn to her sense of humor and then I learned that she is very compassionate and open-minded. She loves to write poetry and has the most bold and original sense of style of anyone I know. She is the only person I've met who can rock gray lipstick. Even though it's been about 16 years since we worked together I randomly remembered that she loves dolphins. Working on this piece made me happy and I hope the painting puts a smile on her face.

15 Cool Cats

Below is a gallery showcasing some of my work that features cats. If you would like me to paint a cat portrait email a few snapshots and we can discuss materials, size, price, etc.

Creature Collaboration - A painting in progress

Whenever I am working on a project I always have left over bits of paint. Instead of letting those final droplets go to waste I added water and threw them on a canvas, layer by layer over several months. This was a great exercise for loosening up as most of my art is very controlled and detailed. It was fun to just let something emerge from the chaos.

Six photos illustrating the progress of the painting.
